National Instruments cDAQ-MIO4300 CompactDAQ Measurement Bundle

The cDAQ-MIO4300 (Part Number: 868015-01) system combines a four-slot cDAQ-9174 USB chassis with the NI-9205 (16-channel) analog input module, the NI-9263 (four-channel) analog output module, and the NI-9401 (eight-channel) digital I/O module. This is a modular CompactDAQ solution for precise voltage measurements (analog input), signal generation (analog output), and signal analysis (digital I/O) for test, research, and industrial automation applications.

The NI-9205 provides 16 differential (or 32 single-ended) analog input channels, allowing programmable input ranges from ±200 mV to ±10 V, internally synchronized 16-bit oversampled data with up to 250 kS/sec total rates, with channel-to-ground isolation, and over-voltage protection for each individual input channel. This helps ensure safe voltage acquisition for individual transducer signals. The NI-9263 provides four simultaneously sampled, 16-bit analog output channels, with ± 10 V output ranges and good short-circuit and over-voltage protection, fast settling time and low cross-talk, thus allowing accurate generation of signals. The NI-9401 gives eight individually-configurable bidirectional 5 V/TTL digital channel pairs giving ready access to the generation of timed pulses, digital protocols, and counter/timer operations in general.

The Chassis provides coordinated timing and triggers, programmable internal AO regeneration, four counter/timer operations, PFI (Programmable Function Interface) for synchronous cabling operations, and USB 2.0 interfacing of the CompactDAQ system for laptop or embedded PC installations. Engineers use the compact chassis for sensor/actuators characterization, prototype validation, automated production test and HIL validation, where increased ease is given through isolated inputs and programmable triggers and modular C Series I/O performs easier integration with transducers, signal conditioning, and PLC-derived test racks. Together with the system, a terminal block, backshell and strain kits, USB A-B cables, and AC/DC power supplies form part of easier wiring and integration.

The system is compatible with a range of NI software including LabVIEW and FlexLogger, but uses software open to further languages including Python, ANSI C, and C#.NET for faster growth and development of processing programs, TDMS and CSV data logging, program inline calculations, and automated sequences for test. The CompactDAQ MIO4300 can give ready access to solutions in bench laboratories, field measurements, control validation, and automated test systems requiring modular but well synchronized voltage I/O, giving synchronized sample-rate synchronously together with very easily-variable software programming approaches.
